Monheim – Fluopicolide, the latest active ingredient in the Bayer CropScience fungicides portfolio, has received regulatory approval in Japan and the United States. The Japanese authorities granted a local registration for Reliable® (fluopicolide + propamocarb HCl) for the control of late blight in potatoes.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved fluopicolide for use in vegetable crops, grapes, turf and ornamentals. In the United States, fluopicolide and combinations containing it will be marketed under a licensing agreement by Valent Corporation of Walnut 2006 Bayer Creek, California. Brand names will be Stellar® for use on turf and Presidio® for use on vegetables and grapes. The market launch is scheduled for 2008.
